Wordownz

Overview

Wordownz is an addictive word game for Android, similar to «Countdown», in English and French.

For its English version, it is based on the television game show «Countdown», and for its French version, it is based on the game «Le mot le plus long», which is the «Letters» part of the famous French television game show «Des chiffres et des lettres».

The aim is to form the longest possible word with 9 letters randomly drawn by the computer, within a fixed time limit. Each letter can be used once.

How to play

Two game modes are available :

1. The regular mode, in which the player competes against the computer at variable difficulty levels ranging from level skill 1 (beginner) to level skill 8 (perfect).

2. The challenge mode, in which the player competes against the computer at the highest level skill (perfect) and attempts to achieve the highest possible score. Each time the player achieves a better score, his name is displayed as the record holder.

To form a word, simply click on the letters that make up the word in the lower panel. And, to delete the last letter of the word, click on that letter again in the higher panel.

The number of points obtained is simply the length of the word submitted, provided it is valid.

All the game settings (game mode, level skill, number of draws per party, reflection time, interface language and game language) are totally configurable.

Dictionary

The built-in dictionaries are very rich, highly detailed and available offline. The English dictionary includes more than 50000 forms in capitals from 2 to 9 letters, the French one more than 75000.

Common nouns, plurals, adjectives, verbs (base form, past participle and present participle) are allowed. However, proper nouns, compound words, past tense of verbs, prefixes, suffixes, symbols, acronyms and abbreviations are not accepted.
